The Battlefords North Stars are currently on a home stretch of games with only 1 game left on the road to close out the 23 portion of the 23/24 campaign. Wednesday November 29th against the Notre Dame Hounds saw success in the ACC both on and off the ice! We had our $5 night with $5 admission, $5 drinks and $5 merch booth specials saw 783 fans out on a Wednesday night! Wednesdays 8-2 win saw 13 players registering at least a single point that night with November Defenceman of the Month putting up a Hat Trick! Friday we played the Estevan Bruins which saw us off to a slow start trailing 3-0 after the first period, yet with some 3rd period heroics including the tying goal coming with only 7 seconds left on the clock we lost in OT 4-5. Saturday was a different story with us leading 2-0 after the first period but having a rough 3rd period with Melville tying the game up at 3-3 to head into OT where we would have our 2nd OT lose of the weekend series. With a possible 6 points up for grabs this week we were able to attain 4 points which improves our season record this far to 29 games played for a 19-7-2-1 with 41 points for 2nd in the league and 1st in the Nutrien Division with the Humboldt Broncos not far behind with 26 games played for a 17-6-2-1 record with 37 points. The Stars will look to close off the 23 portion of the campaign on a hot note with only 3 games coming next week. December 12th at home against the Notre Dame Hounds, December 15th on the road in Kindersley and the final game on December 16th against Kindersley. At that point we will only have 24 games left to play in the New Year!
