The North Stars continued on their tear this past week with 4 games in 6 nights which ended in another 8 points on the leaderboard as well as extending their game winning streak to 10! Here’s a recap of how the week broke down. Monday night was our first game of the SJHL showcase in Warman against the Estevan Bruins with that game seeing a 5-1 final! That game saw an unreal performance from 20 year old defenseman Alex Izyk who assisted on 4/5 goals scored that night. We also seen a 2g performance from Jackson Allan and the power play going 3/5 that night! Fast forward to Thursday where we closed out the Showcase with our final game of the season against the Weyburn Red Wings, that game ended 6-1 in favor of the Stars. In our 5 meetings with the Weyburn Red Wings over the last 3 weeks where our first game with them is the last time we lost. We won 4/5 meetings against them with 29 goals scored in favor and 19 against. In the last meeting with them we saw 5 different goal scorers with 2 goals coming from Kian Bell. At the end of that game the bus was loaded to head to La Ronge for the weekend to face off on a double header weekend against the La Ronge Ice Wolves at the Mel. Friday night when to OT which is our 4th game heading in to OT this season so far. Captain Tanner Gold ended OT quickly with a goal only 23 seconds in with all 5 goals coming from 5 different scorers 2/5 coming from our veteran defenseman! Saturday being the final night of our week on the road the boys looked to close out going 4/4 and extending their game winning streak to double digits they were able to do just that with 3 of the goals firing from the new top line of Sinclair, Bell & Portner and 1 on the power play.
