The Battlefords North Stars have opened early bird registration for their 2022 Summer Hockey School.

Held each year at North Battleford’s Access Communications Centre, the event will be offered two weeks this summer from Aug. 15–19 and then again from Aug. 22–26.

The hockey school includes both on-ice and dryland training for youth ages U9 to U13, with drills and games led by North Stars’ coaches and players on-hand to work with participants on their skill development.

Head coach, Brayden Klimosko, said the event is one the team looks forward to each year.

“It kind of signals the start of the hockey season, and it’s always a good turnout,” Klimosko said. “It’s nice to have some of these community events again and things the kids can enjoy and be a part of. We’ve got it for two more weeks this year, so hopefully anyone who wants to come out can find a week that works for them.”

In addition to the skills training, marketing and office manager with the North Stars, Kennedy Schmidt, said youth attending this year will also be taking home a North Stars t-shirt and shorts to work out in.
