Billet Information
Each season, the Battlefords North Stars welcome players from across Canada and the United States—young athletes chasing something bigger than themselves. To support them, we rely on families in our community to open their homes and become a part of their journey.
Billet families play a vital role in our organization. For many players, this is their first time away from home. What they need most isn’t just a place to stay—it’s stability, care, and a sense of belonging.
As part of our commitment to both players and their families, we strive to provide a safe, supportive, and welcoming home environment through our billet program.
What We Provide
To help offset the cost of hosting a player, billet families receive:
- $450 per month, per player in grocery cards
- Families hosting a second player will receive an additional $450 per month
- Complimentary access to all regular season home games
Billet Information Meeting
We invite all interested families—including returning billets—to attend our upcoming meeting:

What It Means to Be a Billet Family
Being a billet family is more than providing a room—it’s about creating a home.
Our billets are expected to be positive ambassadors for the North Stars organization, offering guidance, support, and a welcoming environment for players adjusting to life away from their families.
This experience often turns into lifelong relationships—for both the players and the families who support them.
Commitment Timeline
The length of stay can vary depending on the player:
- Some players stay for training camp and pre-season only
- Others remain for the full hockey season (mid-August to May)
Most players will return home during holidays or scheduled breaks throughout the season.
