Last night the Battlefords North Stars were in Melville for game #3 of the first round of playoffs. Heading up there 2-0 on the series the Stars looked to continue moving in the right direction on the series and thanks to some unreal goaltending and an unforgettable 3rd period the Stars were able to walk away with the win to be 3-0 on the series heading into game #4 tonight. T
The first period was all Melville who scored an even strength goal early in the game to get the lead and then put in a powerplay goal near the end of the 1st to finish the 1st period off 2-0 Melville. Kian Bell got on the board for the North Stars first assisted by Bradley Blake & Carson Olsen at 10:19 in the 2nd for the lone goal of that period to end it 2-1 Melville. Melville struck early to regain their 2 goal lead at 4:11 into the 3rd period, a few short minutes later Ben Portner scored assisted by Tanner Gold & Kian Bell to have us back within one and put the spark back into the boys. Elijah Anderson assisted by Carson Olsen & Kian Bell send in the tying goal at 12:19 on the powerplay to make it a tie 3-3 game with less than 8 minutes remaining in the game. Kian Bell sends in his second of the night at 17:08 from Bradley Blake & Tanner Gold for what would be deemed the game winning goal unknown at the time. Just over a minute later Kian Bell takes advantage of the goalie pulled for Melville and sends the Stars in the insurance marker goal at 18:12 to eventually win the game and take the series lead at 3-0! Cunningham proves again to be a force between the pipes again and Kian Bell pulls out at hat-trick and 5 point night to help lead the Stars to victory!
Game #4 of the series will take place Wednesday March 27th in Melville with a 7pm puck drop!
